Harborview Condos is conveniently located near one of Frankfort's most historic and famous lighthouses in Michigan. The Point Betsie lighthouse was built in 1858, but was not activated until the beginning of the navigation season in February of 1859. Point Betsie was originally built to be a guide for vessels traveling the route north from the southern shores of Lake Michigan known as Manitou Passage.

The tower stands at 37 feet and is a white cylindrical brick shape with a white lantern and a red roof. These 'old time' characteristics make it one of the most photographed lighthouses in the United States. Point Betsie and the surrounding buildings have been abandoned since 1996 when the Coast Guard turned it over to the Bureau of Land Management. The Lighthouse is now owned by Benzie County.
